Dear Shelton,

I sent you these memories just in case 'cause I knew you had left Shreveport by then. Interesting to read about that cat even if the story is quite sad. Making some researches about LouisianaI found a band from Ruston, La, who played some gigs with Mickey Gilley, John Fred, Johnny Rivers in the late 50's. They had records released on "Pel" (Lousiana) and "Swade" (Mississippi). Very interesting 'cause in their early years, in 1956, they had Bobby Moorehead as guitar player. Bobby was a long time friend of James Burton and has even taught him some lick when the Fender cat was ten years old or so. In 1956, Bobby stayed for a while at James Burton's house and played some with Larry Bamburg and Linda Brannon for the Big Horns Trail Show. That left hand guitar player is still alive and may live in Minden, La. I hope to be in touch with him one of these ... It will probably blow his socks off to know about Mira Smith's story with his name featured being written by a french guy and printed in Sweden. Ah, ah!

Warmest regards from your french friend.
